DC Spring Applied Electromagnetic Brakes

AEXITORQ TECHNOLOGY’S  electromagnetic  DC fail safe spring applied (Power off) safety brakes have strong and robust design. It is available with torque range 2 Nm – 600 Nm and featured by high performance cost ratio, long service life and low noise.  It is widely used in various machines, installations and equipment.

Principle Of Operation

When electricity is applied to the coil of an electromagnet, the magnetic flux attracts the armature to the face of the brake. As it does so, it squeezes the inner and outer friction disks together. The hub is normally mounted on the shaft that is rotating.

Features Of DC Brake
  • Compact Robust Design.
  • High safety brake according to EN 81.
  • Adjustable air gap choices is available in this models.
  • Manual brake release system available in all model.
  • Micro switch equipped for monitoring brake operation.
  • Brake operating noise ≤ 54 dB.
  • Coil with class ‘F’ insulation.
  • Working ambient temp. -10⁰ to +60⁰.
  • Short switching times.
  • High operating frequency.
  • Zero Backlash.
  • Simple installation.
  • Maintenance free long life.

SWITCHING

A.C. Switching: Turn off  times  are much shorter than AC switching  but  for  larger brake  with  higher power coils one of   our   suppressor   &   capacitor   across   the switch   is recommended.

D.C. Switching: A. C. Switching has a considerable  effect on the ‘turn  off  time’ of brake coils. It is not  recommended where fast reaction times are required.

Typical Application
  • Brake motors
  • Hoist, Cranes and material Handling equipments
  • Printing machinery
